Trying to get back on the saddle here. The holiday season was just too busy! Sorry about that folks. It's a new year so hopefully a more solid Musicphileosophy.com too! Anyway, haven't heard anything from Tanlines in forever (then again, I have been waaay out of the loop). The Brooklyn-based duo recently came out with a new track from their up-and-coming album Mixed Emotions that is set to be released on March 20th. Addicting beat, good enough to get me started on a blog post after so long!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday! The weather situation here in the East Coast only means we're on the brink of switching seasons. I on the other hand would like to combat the feelings brought about by the dreary clouds and rain and maybe put a little "umph" into your Sunday. I thought an upbeat tune and a stunning photo of Giselle is just what you need.

Games is a "synth collaboration" comprised of Daniel Lopatin (Ohneohtrix Point Never) and Joel Ford (Tigercity). This track is an awesome example of how songs should be sampled and looped/chopped.

Web silence is over! I'm sorry for disappearing for 2 months. Life has been all a blur for the past 5 months. But now that I finally got a job offer, things are looking up. I can set aside the many hours of laboring over online applications, emailing employers and cold calling upper management and finally allot time to the things I enjoy! Hopefully I haven't lost that much readers yet!

Sergio Mendes + Stevie Wonder

Mixing it up this week. This is taken from the 2006 album of Sergio Mendes, Timeless. It's a great album comprising of collaborations between Mendes and a few neo-soul and alternative hip hop artists. Berimbau has always been one of my favorite bossanova songs and this version definitely does justice to the original track.
